ABOUT US

We believe that the beauty of letterpress resides in the emotional transaction that occurs when you transform print into tactility, touch into feelings and feelings into memories.

Olive Letterpress began innocently enough with a love of American letterpress band posters and gained momentum abruptly one evening, after a late night online press purchase. Some weeks later, and after the initial shock of having a vintage press sitting in the living room,(the kids were not happy), Jo and Andy Olive set about obsessively experimenting and learning the intricacies and craftsmanship of printing the old fashioned way. Now, their studio has grown to include a dog named Starchy, multiple vintage presses and antique machinery, and is now happily housed and well established in the Tweed Valley of Northern NSW, where they provide custom letterpress to wonderful clients both near and far.

The studio creates handcrafted paper goods for business, for lovers and other creative studios and makers and have produced personal projects and wholesale goods that have furnished gorgeous stores all over the world.

Their love for letterpress, print and making is strengthened by their backgrounds in graphic arts, industrial design, fine art and their personal art practices.

Their work has been seen in Peppermint Magazine, Inside Out Magazine, Home Beautiful, Uppercase, Fashion Journal and at the The Big Design Markets and Finders Keepers Markets throughout Australia. Their stationery ranges have been distributed throughout Asia and have been included in retail stores throughout Australia, Europe and the United States.
