WHAT IS A SEMI-CUSTOM DESIGN?

A semi-custom design allows you to make some changes to your invitation but does not allow for layout and font changes. This preserves the design you originally fell for and also makes designing your stationery a very quick process as most choices have been made for you. You can customise a design by choosing ink colours, inserting your details and choosing envelopes. Additional customisation is available by purchasing from our embellishments page.

View our semi-custom designs here.

WHAT IS A CUSTOM DESIGN?

A custom design is a creative collaboration between our studio and you. This service allows you to build your design from the ground up and is a highly personal and meaningful process. Custom design projects are small artworks built around your love story and can range from lavish suites to quiet personal gestures. As each couple and their dreams are vastly different, estimates are provided based on the specifics of each project.

WHEN SHOULD I ORDER MY WEDDING STATIONERY - HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?

Once your location/venue has been secured we encourage you to book your wedding stationery in as soon as possible. Remember that you’ll need to factor in one or more of these turnaround times:

  • semi-custom design 1-3 weeks

  • custom design 2-4 weeks

  • letterpress printing 2-4 weeks

  • digital printing 2-3 weeks

Be sure to also factor in shipping times and the date you would like your guests to receive their invitations by - see below.

WHEN SHOULD I SEND MY WEDDING STATIONERY?

As a guide:

  • Save The Dates can be sent 6-8 months prior to your wedding date

  • Invitations sent 6-10 weeks prior to your wedding date

It’s important to factor in shipping time, especially at busy times of the year and when inviting international guests or for destination weddings.

I’M ON A BUDGET, WHAT BUDGET FRIENDLY OPTIONS ARE THERE?

We have lots of solutions for keeping your budget intact! Some of the most common solutions are:

  • keep it simple by choosing a design that works for one colour letterpress pricing.

  • print some elements or the whole suite digitally.

  • choose a two piece semi-custom design and include all information on one invitation.

  • choose a smaller invitation size ie postcard size to keeps costs down.

  • incorporate colour through ink and envelopes rather than embellishment and special finishes.

  • speak to us about using a different paper stock.

I HAVE A DESIGN READY TO GO, CAN YOU STILL PRINT FOR ME?

Yes, absolutely! Send through your design and ideas and we can put an estimate together for you.

HOW MANY INVITES DO I NEED?

One per household will usually suffice, but ordering 10-15 more for additional guests and as keepsakes is always a good idea. Our online invitations pricing is for 50/75/100, for other quantities, please contact us for an estimate.

DO YOU PROVIDE SAMPLES?

Yes. Our Semi-Custom Wedding Sampler is in production and will soon be available online. If you choose to work with Olive Letterpress for your wedding suite, the cost of the sampler will be deducted from your order’s total.

CAN WE SEE A PROOF FIRST BEFORE WE GO TO PRINT?

For Semi-Custom and Custom Design, all final proofs will be delivered digitally for approval. Letterpress proofs are not available due to the need to make plates, set-up the press and clean down.

WE’RE IN A BIT OF A HURRY, DO YOU DO RUSH ORDER?

At times we can accomodate a rush order, but this does depend on our print schedule. If we are available to rush your order through there will be an additional fee involved.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED? CAN WE VISIT?

Our studio is located on our family property in Doon Doon Valley, Northern NSW. Visits are happily accommodated, however appointments are necessary. If you would like to visit the studio, please contact us here to arrange a time.

DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

We work with clients from all over the world and ship globally.
